Meet the People of NOC
We鈥檙e parents. We work full-time. We study full-time. We鈥檙e first-generation students. We鈥檙e dreamers. We鈥檙e achievers. We鈥檙e in our teens, 20s, 30s, and beyond. We鈥檙e the People of NOC.
鈥淚 realized that God ordered our steps today. We weren鈥檛 really running behind; we were right on time!鈥
鈥淚 will never forget my teammates from the two years I was there because they taught me what being on a team really meant.鈥
鈥淪he made me feel not so very alone anymore, and when I was 16 she adopted me. My life forever changed!鈥
鈥淎ll of my accomplishments wouldn鈥檛 have been possible without the education I received at 91成人.鈥
鈥淎ll of my accomplishments wouldn鈥檛 have been possible without the education I received at 91成人.鈥
鈥淭hese days I try to encourage everyone to not give up on their dreams. If I can do it, anyone can do it!鈥
鈥淚 never imagined when I was a student here at NOC that I would have a career here.鈥
鈥淪ometimes in life we don鈥檛 have all the answers, and our generation definitely shouldn鈥檛 think we have to know it all at 20, we just have to keep moving forward.鈥
鈥淲e spent two months in a refugee camp in Macedonia and then it took us another two months to get to the United States.鈥
鈥淚 knew this would be the end of my professional basketball days, but my heart wanted me to work with kids from this impoverished country; to help give them the same opportunities that have blessed me.鈥
鈥淚 struggled to find my place in this world and began asking myself the big questions, 鈥淲ho am I?鈥 鈥淲hat do I want to be?鈥
鈥淢y calling here on earth is to serve others. What greater service than to serve my country and protect those who cannot protect themselves.鈥
鈥淚 studied till 3 in the morning every night and got up at 6 am to be ready for my classes the next day. It was very difficult, but not impossible!鈥
